New to Canada and looking for things to do? The shops may be closed but there’s plenty to do that doesn’t involve visiting a shopping mall.

Spring is starting to make an appearance here in Canada, just in time for the long weekend! You might as well take advantage of Your extra day off work and enjoy some fun.

GO CAMPING

Canada is known for some of the best camping grounds in North America. Take advantage of the long weekend by finding a nice peaceful spot along Lake Superior to set up camp for the night, roast marshmallows and gaze at the starry sky. Or choose one of the many famous national parks to park yourself for the night and enjoy the scenery - Algonquin Provincial Park, Killarney Provincial Park, Parc national de la Mauricie, and Liard River Hot Springs Provincial Park are just a few great options.

VISIT SOME OF CANADA’S GEOLOGICAL WONDERS

Looking for something to do with the whole family? Book a guided tour at The Bonnechere Caves in Eganville, Ontario. This incredible cave system is estimated to be around 500 million years old and hides infinite geological gems behind its walls.

CALLING ALL AVIATION ENTHUSIASTS

Visit Canada’s Bushplane Heritage Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Explore a world-class collection of vintage bushplanes, interactive exhibits, and hands-on flight simulators that bring the adventure of Canada’s aviation pioneers to life. You’ll also get to learn about forest fire suppression, and experience the science behind flight.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Whether you choose to venture out and enjoy some attractions or stay in and get some much needed R&R, enjoy your long weekend - you deserve it!
