Purpose

The purpose of the College is to regulate immigration and citizenship consultants in the public interest and protect the public, including by

(a) establishing and administering qualification standards, standards of practice and continuing education requirements for licensees;

(a.1) establishing and providing training and development programs for licensees;

(b) ensuring compliance with the code of professional conduct; and

(c) undertaking public awareness activities.

Anyone who wants to provide Canadian immigration or citizenship advice or representation for a fee (or for any other benefit) must be one of the following:

  • A licensee in good standing with the College

  • A member of a Canadian law society, or

  • A member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
